The Deerfield Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Telecommunicator. Telecommunicators perform emergency and non-emergency communications for the Police Department, including answering emergency calls and non-emergency inquiries, dispatching Patrol Officers, monitoring the status of Officers and maintaining related records to ensure Officer and citizen safety. Employees serve on a shift basis for a 24-hour a day service operation.
Starting salary is $50,730. Benefits include: health, dental, and life insurance. Requirements are: a H.S. diploma or GED, with some college preferred; excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; personal computer operations; basic knowledge of federal, state, county, and local laws.

The Deerfield Police Department is seeking applicants for the position of Community Service Officer. The Community Service Officer performs a variety of tasks in an effort to safeguard all
life and property within the Village of Deerfield while adhering to and enforcing all
applicable federal, state, county, and local laws and Village ordinances. The
Community Service Officer performs law enforcement related duties in both the field and
at the station but does not have full police authority. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Deputy Police Chiefs and the
Police Chief.
