Joan Reed and Joanne Kunz, Co-Managers The Deerfield Farmers Market was
established in 1995 as a way to offer locally grown fruits and vegetables,
and other fresh products to our community in an outdoor market setting. In
addition to Joan and Joanne, our committee members include We attend each of the markets and are
always available to answer questions or provide a helping hand. We also
publish a free monthly newsletter, available at the market, to provide
additional information about the market, our vendors, and the products being
sold. We have grown from a monthly market
during our first year, to a weekly Saturday market which operates for 17 to
18 weeks during the growing season. Over 20 vendors participate (6 vegetable,
1 organic/naturally grown vegetables, 4 fruit, fresh-cut flowers and a
variety of specialty products), in addition to local civic organizations
which hold weekly bake sales and other fundraising events. We also offer
cooking demonstrations and recipe samplings using products available at our
market, and host two popular events - our annual Grillfest and Apple Pie
